Voices (Chap. 1)

– The Nightmare Has Just Begun –

The sky is going to explode at any moment – blood will be everywhere. Everybody will be wounded. Everybody will die. I probably will die as well. I probably will see nothing. Actually, I’m already dying…

I sat quietly in the corner of the garden, swinging on the swing while gazing up into the sky. The breeze brushed against my skin ever so slightly. It made me close my eyes and inhale deeply. The scent of the lilies in the garden enveloped around my skin – goosebumps appeared.

Somehow, I could feel my thoughts running through my head – as if they were attempting to search for something. To be honest, I never felt quite so insecure about my feelings. Every day, I felt like my chest was empty, my heart torn to pieces. Loneliness has always been a part of me. Deep inside me, somehow, I can’t recognize what “love” is. It was just an unnecessary emotion. Something unneeded. Simply a burden for life. My heart clearly thumps – but it does not receive any strong emotions from the outside. It felt like a thick, indestructible wall rose up to engulf my soul. “Love” was clearly not a part of me, and it never will.

I’ve always been longing for freedom.

Freedom from the pain, anxiety, and agony with every heartbeat. Freedom from the joyful hate and painful love. Freedom from everything.

But will it really matter even if I try to long for it?

“Adelle, what on earth are you doing in this cold day?” A voice suddenly interrupted my thoughts. I turned my head towards the unfamiliar voice which called my name.

“Hmm?” I responded.

“Adelle, don’t answer me monotonously. Smile a bit, dear.” The voice become nigh. Somehow, a silhouette appeared in the distance – covering my vision. I shook my head to get rid of it.

“Go away…” My voice finally regained a little power. I swayed my hand around the silhouette.

“Please don’t say that, love. Let me come closer to you,” the unfamiliar voice murmured softly reaching a hand towards me – as if it was asking me to take the hand. I shook my head. Who’s talking to me? Without warning, my heart thumped faster than ever. Cold sweat gushed down through my body; at the same time the cutting breeze pierced right through my chest – tearing my heart apart slowly and steady. I looked up to the silhouette. It seemed to be grinning widely. Too widely perhaps…

My hands gripped the chains of the swing tightly. Nervousness filled in.

“Don’t be scared. I just want to take your hand, that’s all.” The voice became more feminine as the silhouette walked closer… and closer. I stopped swinging and got off immediately. I turned my head around – but it was such a bad mistake.

“Where… do… you… want… to go… Adelle…?” She smiled wider. Slowly, her eyes appeared. Not normal eyes – but thin, cat-like eyes. Her grin didn’t look normal at all. She had the smile of a killer.

I couldn’t move at that moment.

The mysterious woman seemed to reach her other hand towards me – as if she was gesturing to give an embrace. The shadows of the swaying trees danced on her peculiar face. A cold shiver ran through my body. The cold’s not from the outside, but the inside. Then, as soon as the shadows disappeared, dark and deep blue eyes appeared on her face. Somehow, her features were making me shiver even more. I looked up into her mesmerizing eyes. She turned closer to me, covering most of the sunshine on my face. I wanted to run away as fast as I could. I wanted to hit her on the head as fast as I could. But her hypnotizing eyes and smile captured my gaze as I try to take my action. As silence crept from nowhere, I sat still on the swing – my mind became entangled.

More coming soon. ;)

Fading Feelings... Bleaching Life.

Evertime I look up into the sky, strangely... I feel somehow distressed. Today, the sky also looked glum -- all white, as if it had no emotion at all. Everything pretty much felt bitter. My mind kept on wandering around in circles -- what was happening to life? Again, everything was bleaching, the colours seemed to be fading away. The atmosphere -- which before it was full of cheer and happiness -- became dull and boring!

But the worst thing that I experienced was "that". For some reason, my friends talk lesser to me -- especially my friends on Facebook. They became lifeless when we conversed. It made me feel sad and worried. Each time we talked, I really hoped for myself to bring out a good conversation -- but stupid me, I wasn't able to do it. Perhaps I felt too pathetic to start a conversation. To be honest, I really had no idea what to talk about.

Perhaps... this is what that person told me. About the dulling life. About the fading emotions.
But I don't want that to happen! Why? Why does this happen when I live my life to the fullest? Why does the excitement fade away just when I smile and bring out the true me? Why does the colours of the emotions bleach just when I realized about my true feelings?

It's absolutely not fair!

As everything became duller and blank, my feelings for that person began to... fade away as well. I cannot feel the heart-thumping footsteps anymore. I cannot blush like a used to anymore. I cannot smile widely anymore. But the most horrible thing is, I cannot express my feelings and emotions anymore.

Will everything I held between my hands... become dissolved?

I don't want life to become colourless.
I don't want my friends to become sad.
I don't want the world to become dull.
I don't want my feelings for that person to fade away!

Will someone listen to my distress? Perhaps Allah will. Perhaps they will.

A Silent Scream

Made in 28.10.08.
I was kind of bored and began searching stuff on my notebook -- fortunately I found this poem I wrote a long time ago when I was still on Dubai. [I was still pure that time. No perverted thoughts or anything. Ah, memories sure are good... XD]

The breeze flows calmly through the air once more,
Carrying the tear from my eyes;
Just a tear,
Lingering around the faceless meadow.
A silent scream roared in my heart.

I sit here with a worn-out smile --
While the breeze slashed right through the wounded cut,
Pain drifting the happiness away.
A silent scream roared in my heart.

If only the world could see what I feel,
Then, would the world, know who I am?
I've found, lost and feared the world so bad.
A silent scream roared in my heart.

Time and distance have erased from the map,
The things I wished anew was abolished for ever.
And now I find myself alone and empty once more;
A silent scream roared in my heart.

Confusion shattered my mind swiftly,
I am lost to reality and living in time,
Though I am struggling through life
A silent scream roared in my heart.

"Why do I always need to need you when you're gone?
Where do you go when I'm around?
What have I done, what have I lost that's so defeating?"
A silent scream roared in my heart.

Travelling from world to world I did,
To heal my wounds and search for the right elucidation.
I thought that I could live afresh, but again --
A silent scream roared in my heart.

A thunderous silence breaks in my thoughts,
What was once many great ideas --
Is now a triumph, lost.
A silent scream roared in my heart.

What would it be like to stay like this forever?
To be lost in my own words and thoughts?
From the inside, looking out --
A silent scream roared in my heart.

Does the world know how it feels,
To be afraid of something
That you can't do anything about?
A silent scream roared in my heart.

I want to overcome that unfamiliar feeling,
Which showers me with its antagonizing rays of betrayal,
Portraying nothing but false pretenses.
A silent scream roared in my heart.

Tonight my memories are still chasing it in my mind
And havoc they wreak in their desperate plight.
But it has vanished, slipped away into the everlasting night.
A silent scream roared in my heart.

Walk to the window and peer into the endless night,
The clouds and the winds are gone now;
Only the moon with the dim sparks of hope.
A silent scream roared in my heart.

So now, I journey on alone with my heart bare,
Forever wandering, toward the sunrise I will glide.
Hence I shall ask you once again,
What good is love.

"Life is bittersweet, alright."
The last silent scream roared in my heart.

Hmm, I really wonder if I should post this on Facebook or not. Argh, I'm so confused. I want to show my friends this poem, but I'm afraid that they'll think that I'm in love! Well, actually I'm not really in love. Even though...

A new goal

To be honest, I've always been waiting for this moment. The only moment I was waiting for since I came to Jakarta... I passed to 8th grade!
I know that someone people would say right now, "Well who cares?!" For your information: I care. I've been suffering for several months in the school I'm going now. Not that I hate it, but... the teachers are never satisfying me. They taught me horribly. I know that we should read the text books, however, there's something that is bothering me right now! How can they say that to the pupils?! They also say it in a bad way -- as if they don't care about teaching the students or something.
Ok, so here it ends my whining about the school. Let's move on.
Now that I graduated grade 7, I will have to make new goals -- just like I promised to my mom. (Ugh, I'm kind of regretting this...). Teachers told my parents about my struggles on every subject. About my horrible Indonesian (my native language), my strange behaviour, etc. Thanks to ''them'', my mom is pretty much worried and anxious about my studies. That's when I told her this:

"Mom, I will achieve this! Don't worry. I will defeat the smart people also!"
Naturally, my mom was glad that I had such a high spirit inside me. On the other hand, I was panicking even more when I uttered those words. My face? Was roughly like this as I entered my room to chill myself out:

As well, I might have turned crazy when I panicked.
Ah yes, here are the goals I want to reach (for the sake of my life):

  • Learn Indonesian fully. -____- (nooo...!)
  • Be an expert at maths.
  • Read more Indonesian novels.
  • Always study when have nothing to do.
  • Learn civics.
  • Learn economy and business.
  • Learn how to control the temper.
  • Be good at art.
  • Write a short-story for a competition.
  • Write at least three poems in Indonesian.
  • Only buy mangas in free time.
  • Contact far-away friends.
  • Socialize with teachers.
  • Learn the art of photography.
  • Enhance the knowledge of literacy.
  • Make a decision for a job when all of these options are done.
And there you go!
These list of goals are impossible -- I know. But of course, I will have to try them so that I can content my family. How nice of me. Hahaha :D

Words. Love. Quote. Action.

These are one of the quotes I found around the Internet (most useful source, lol). I think some of these are helping me to realize many things and many ways of life. I would like to share these to everyone who's viewing my blog right now.
I'm glad quotes exists in this world. Why? Well, it may teach you a lot of things about friendship and life. When I read all of these quotes, I realized that I made so many mistakes recently, so I tried really hard to fix them all. I'm pretty glad now. :)
What do you think about these quotes?

Is Hell Really Gone?

"YES! TAKE THAT!"
Yes, yes. That was my first thought when the final exams finished on Friday 19th. I was finally relieved -- but at the same time more stressed than ever. There are many tests that I couldn't make it well! I had to admit -- It was very hard. Not to mention that I just came to Indonesia (well 8-9 months ago) and then I had to learn my own native language by force. Imagine that my face was beaten like this:

At least it "looked" like that...
After the tests finished, I head home quietly but I could hear my own voice inside screaming for a celebration. Then the horror came.
When I opened the door, my mom immediately asked: "How's the tests?" I lied of course, "Pretty good." I don't know if she looked convinced or not but perhaps according to my instincts, she looked pretty convinced. Thank God, I smiled.
I just can't believe how hard the exams were! They were all killing my nerves and spines. To be pretty honest, I studied a lot but the questions + answers are totally unexpected! They didn't cover up my vision at all... I was pretty much stressed -- but I kept on remembering my promise to my mom.

"To pass 7th Grade"

How stupid I could be? I made some impossible promises... I sulked.
I hope hell is really gone! But what's more now?
High School = more exams
College = MORE MORE exams
Job = ...can't tell.

*bends and cries*

Life is so cruel sometimes..
